Bhutan (6 Nights/ 7 Days)
DAY 01: Paro – Thimphu
As you embark on a beautiful journey to Bhutan. Arrive into Paro and drive to the capital town – Thimphu. En route stop at the Tachogang Temple – “Temple of the hill of the Excellent Horse”. Also visit the Sitsina Nunnery. Time permitting visit king’s administrative office. Overnight in Thimphu.
DAY 02: Thimphu
After breakfast proceed on a tour of Thimphu. Visit the Memorial Chorten – a white and tall landmark of Thimphu, the heritage Museum – that exhibits the life and living styles of upper middle class Bhutanese family of the 19th century. Visit the Takin Sanctuary where you can see these unique animals. Visit The National Institute for Zorig Chusum Pedzoe (School of Arts and Crafts) commonly known as “the painting school”, and the Sangaygang View Point – from 2685 metres, enjoy wonderful views. Also visit the Changangkha Lhakhang – an old fortress like temple and monastic school and many more interesting sights. Overnight in Thimphu.
DAY 03: Thimphu – Gangtey (Approx. 5 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Punakha, an old winter capital of Bhutan. En-route stop at Dochu LaPass, 10,000 ft, and view the eastern Himalayas, including Bhutan’s highest mountain, Gangkar Punsum, 24,770 ft. The road then drops down through varied ever changing forest, finally emerging into the highly cultivated Punakha valley. Continue to Gangtey. On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight in Gangtey.
DAY 04: Gangtey – Punakha via Wangdue (Approx 3 Hrs)
After breakfast proceed to the Gantey Gompa Monastery – overlooking the Phobjikha valley. Proceed to Wangdue, here visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong – a massive fortress built in the shape of a sleeping bull on a hilltop at the confluence of Punakha Chu and Tang Chu Rivers. On arrival into Punakha check into the hotel. Overnight in Punakha.
DAY 05 : Punakha sightseeing and evening drive to Paro (Approx 4 Hrs)
After breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour of Punakha Dzong the “Palace of Great Happiness” located on the confluence of two rivers (Phochu and Mochu). It serves as winter residence for chief Abbot. Visit Chimi Lhakhang – a fertility monastery dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley. It has long been a pilgrimage site for childless couples. See many more interesting sights before leaving for Paro. Overnight in Paro.
DAY 06 : Paro
fter breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Paro. See the Rinpung Dzong – a Buddhist Monastery and fortress. Visit the National Museum located inside a circular watchtower. See many more sights as you enjoy this beautiful city. Overnight in Paro.
DAY 07 : Departure
After an early breakfast, proceed to the airport and return home with wonderful memories of your holiday.
