Oman (7 Nights/ 8Days)

DAY 01:

On arrival at Muscat International Airport, you will be met by our local Representative and transfer to Muscat Hotel. Day at Leisure (Free Time for shopping).

DAY 02:

Muscat – Our tour of the Grand Mosque (except Friday) & Bait Al Zubair Museum (except Friday) is a brief introduction that traces Oman’s history and development. Drive along the waterfront Corniche visiting the Fish Market & the colourful Muttrah Souq. We proceed for a photo stop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portugese forts Mirani & Jalali. (Ladies fully covered and to carry a head scarf and men in trousers). Afternoon at Leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Muscat.

DAY 03:

Muscat to Wadi Nakher. Enroute to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman, visit the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz with its unique Falaj system and date plantations. Visit the Al Hoota Caves (Except Monday’s) where one gets a chance to view stalactites and stalagmites and an underground lake. Drive past the Bahla Fort which has been declared a World Heritage site. At the village of Bahla, one can view potters at work. Next to visit the Jabrin Palace where the visitor is able to capture the medieval atmosphere and marvel at the beautiful hand painted ceilings and carved door frames.

Visit Wadi Nakher located in the depth of the deepest canyon. Head for Jebel Shams and pass by the village of Wadi Ghul with its stone dwellings. One can spot the local weavers selling their goat hair rugs woven on traditional looms. Enjoy the spectacular view from Jebel Shams with a vertical drop of 1000 meters to the wadi below. Overnight stay at View Camp.

DAY 04:

Breakfast at the campsite. Enjoy the cool air up in the mountains and one can enjoy a small trek if so inclined and admire the awe inspiring scenery. Nizwa town is dominated by the Round tower Fort completed in the 17th Century. The nearby traditional Souk sells clay pottery, silver jewellery, guns and local produce.

Later to Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and White Sea of sand and dunes rising up to 200 meters, which are, also host to a variety of flora and fauna. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. Experience a roller coaster like feeling over the dunes. Overnight in tents at The 1000 Night Camp.

DAY 05:

Enjoy Breakfast at the camp. Wahiba Sands is also home to the traditional Bedouin tribe who are known for their hospitality and their knowledge of the Sands. We will visit a Bedouin family in their traditional and simple habitat. In stark contrast to this is Wadi Bani Khalid. It comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains. The Wadi has clear deep blue water. It is advisable to wear light comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Later proceed to Ras Al Jinz Scientific Centre where we are escorted to the beach by trained guides to watch the turtles coming into nest on the sands. Overnight stay at the Ras Al Hadd Beach Resort.

DAY 06:

After breakfast, to Muscat. This tour offers breathtaking glimpses of the blue waters of the Gulf of Oman offset by pristine white beaches. Enroute visit the mausoleum of Bibi Miriam at Qalhat stands as testimony of a bygone era. As we continue from here the road winds through mountain terrain offering breathtaking glimpses of the blue waters of the ocean. We then proceed to the Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. On clear sunny days while driving along the coast one might chance to see sharks in the deep blue waters or fleet footed Gazelles sprint across the landscape. We drive past the fishing village of Quriyat. There is a good chance of spotting Flamingos and Eagles at an inland stream. Visit the picturesque Wadi Arabayeen with its deep pools of water set among the date palms. Overnight stay at hotel in Muscat.

DAY 07:

Transfer from the Muscat hotel to the Marina to embark on a boat as we search the seas for Dolphins and Whales. Watching wild dolphins is a thrilling way to start the day and the lucky may even come across one of the many species of whales that can be found just a few kilometers from Muscat’s rugged coast. Not every trip guarantees a sighting, but you are sure to enjoy a trip out to sea and enhance your knowledge of nature’s most fascinating marine mammals. Overnight stay at hotel in Muscat.

DAY 08:

Breakfast at the hotel. Later transfer from Muscat hotel to Muscat International Airport for your flight back home.
